Re: Wind to our sails!

Suilad, Melleth vell ~ Since you've interacted with Miguel for some time, and feel that connecting IV to his organization (?) and web presence, would potentially draw more devoted members to IV, then I say it can't hurt to try and find out what the results are. I went to the web site, and since none...

Re: Ted Nasmith's new work

Ted Naismith is one of my favorite illustrator's of Tolkien's characters and scenes, definitely. I agree that he probably hasn't had too much experience drawing detailed images of women, because Tinuviel does have a rather chiseled face. I really can't recall much of how my favorite graphic novelist...

Re: two new images

Suilad, Melleth ~ You've definitely made an amazing start on both of these illustrations! I have always enjoyed watching your ongoing work on your drawings, since I don't use the computer as a medium. Every thing that you draw possesses a vibrancy, a captured essence of life, and these two pieces ar...

Re: a change of roles

Suilad ~ *sighs* I must have missed this when you made the original post, Luthien. I was right on the cusp of a further downward spiral back in September, and it was full~blown by the middle of October. So I am coming in this late in the game to say that I'm in support of this arrangement. That I ha...

Re: Imagery from Nost-na-Lothian in Gondolin

Very beautiful, as I feel all of your Imaginal artwork is, Melleth. I like the idea of printing some of these out, and look forward to seeing the drawings as you refine them.

Re: Images from Valinor

Suilad ~ I just wanted to say that this also resonates very well with what I have seen upon Corollaire as well when I seek to travel there. I had to smile when I read Meneldur's comment about inclusion of the Remmirath, (Pleiades), because I just knew that's what they were. Eruannlass

Re: Wizards, Rings, Elves and Things

I'm pretty sure that I've seen 'The Invisible Thief' before, somewhere on the internet, but the art books themselves are few and far between where I live. And it's pretty much a rule that if I find any of them, particularly that are out of print, I'll snatch them up. One that I recommend for anyone ...

Re: Haiku contest

Coming here and reading these again has renewed the happiness I felt when I first read them, Melleth. :) AS with all Haiku, the imagery is both simple and straightforward, and yet these summon a very clear and vast visual of what you've described. Very beautiful work, and congratulations of the hono...

Re: Blender again

Suilad ~ This is an interesting reckoning of how the light of the Trees would spread around the Blessed Realm. I've noticed that, regardless of the medium, whenever any of us put our minds to an artistic expression of the Realm, insights about what we're working on just flow through it. It's strikes...

Congrats also on the upcoming move to Georgia, Meneldur! Does this mean you succeeded in getting a house?

Re: Painting of Queens of Numenor

Those are interesting, since most of the artwork I've seen on DeviantArt features either the Valar, Eldar, and the other races and characters of Middle~earth. It always interests me when details of the artwork (such as the color choice for each queen's clothing, and the symbols in the tile) either d...

Re: Blender again

Suilad ~ It's always enjoyable to see your Blender renderings, Melleth, and these are no exception. There certainly is a lot that can be achieved with this program. Those examples you posted look like photographs. Of course, I found the one of the white room and piano at John Lennon's Tittenhurst Pa...

Re: Mormeril

Suilad ~ The imagery in this is quite stirring, Elennar. I sometimes marvel at the number of names that have come to me since I chose to follow a 'Lore resonant' spiritual path, by my own choosing, as an expression of how my fellow mariners see me, or from more divine sources. Rowan and I made a jou...

Re: Blessed Realm mural

Suilad ~ Quote from Meneldur ~ -- No, wait, what I meant to say was: do you know if they make these sodium spectral filters in the form of wrap-around "sunglasses"? As I'm big fan of naked-eye celestial observations, that would be great if someone did. Some months ago, after Luthien mentioned the as...
