Impressions of the Valar

Post by Lúthien » Fri Aug 27, 2010 8:12 pm

Suilad,

lately, I have been creating more and more "hand-made" imagery. Lance Owens sort of advised me to "get my hands dirty" (use physical media instead of computer techniques) when taking notes of meditative experiences and when creating imagery, because it works better to ground yourself (it was, I think).
I've been creating some of my imaginal images in water colour (largely) since then, and ever since our Northscape project, I've really gotten into a routine of drawing again. I'd like to reproduce some of the images that I made of encounters with the Valar in here. Some of the older ones are still computer based, but the newer ones are not.

This is how Manwë and Varda appeared to me when I first met them.

Varda / Elbereth

This was really a most amazing thing. She had remained very abstract for the whole of our encounter, but when I asked her if she would be willing to become a bit more "manifest", this is what she looked like. It was like a huge flower of starlight suddenly blossomed up. It was most impressive.

The one of Elbereth is quite stunningly.  I feel as if I am looking right at Her, minus the braided tresses.
