A Big Beautiful Woman

If Arda were a big beautiful  woman....,

Her bones and structure would be Aule,
the flesh that clothed Her, Yavanna.
The blood that flowed through Her would be Ulmo,
the breath that issued forth from Her, Manwe.
The light which emcompasses Her, that is Varda.


(Not much in the way of poetry, yet I think it paints a nice picture.)

Her flesh may be Yavanna, but how about gowns adorning her are Vana?

I like that!  It is very appropriate.  The goal of this post was to prompt imagery, which allowed one to conceive of how the energies of the Valar are woven throughout Arda.

Well, you've certainly got  poetic word-pictures rolling through my mind.  ;D

This what I have so far. It's still in progress (and the rhthym is a bit off).

Arda is born of Aule's bones
Yavanna's shapely breasts and thighs
Give her valley lows and mountain highs.
Ulmo's rivers, springs and oceans
Course through her veins,
While Manwe's breezes blowing through her manes
filled up her lungs before Yavanna's songs were sung.
Vana's spring glories create her verdant gown
And Varda's starry firmament a brilliant crown.


There is more rolling around in my head with the rest of the Valar kings and queens. I'll post more as it gels. If you've got suggestions to improve it, go ahead. I think of this a group project, since Ellenar got the ball rolling.

Her healing mysteries are the cloaks of Este's mists (something like that)...

Her brow metes Namo's justice...

Wow!  Keep at it, Niennildi.  You are definitely on to something here.  This is a prime example of the unfolding creative process, of the group mind-set.  Exactly what IV is all about.

Held aloft on Irmo's dreaming,
Her mantle Este's mists of healing.

I know it doesn't rhyme, but close enough...
