A Remmirath pattern...

I've attached a pattern that I found while paging through one of the 'purple books' that Nienna mentioned to me in the experience I had with her.  I'm still writing it, but will be posting it soon, along with the other things I found from her guidance...this was originally a quilt pattern, but could be used for a lot of stuff...

Oh! This is great. Looks just like a mandala and can be used for coloring and focusing your mind and etcetera. I will have to print my off a copy tomorrow at work. Thanks for posting!

Hey ... I have the 96 box Colouring isn't just for kids, I find it helps to calm me and serves as a great mindfulness exercise. To just focus on the colors, and why I chose those colors and etcetera. It's very cathartic.

Now that I think of it, I think mine has 96, too.  I bought it the year they had the winners of the 'name the new colors' contest.  There's one called Macaroni and Cheese...I made a few extra copies of the pattern while getting it to size right, and I saved them - perfect for Mandala making...

This is great, Eruanlass. This is really cool just as the line drawing too. It really brings out the "Netted Stars" aspect of Remmirath. I look forward to reading the Nienna meditation you refer to.

I agree, Hostawen. When I was recovering from a severe depression a few years back, coloring was a valuable tool for me. It was a creative outlet that was not too overwhelming. The mandalas focused the mind that wanted to scatter thoughts all over the place (usually in unpleasant directions).

Suilad Niennildi and Aikanar,

I like quilt patterns, because they are adaptable to other projects.  I never even thought of it as a mandala, but since Hostawen mentioned it as looking like one, I then realized that my feeling of having the Remmirath pattern being the guidance expressly received for sharing with the group had just been validated, since mandalas are something that anyone can do, and are a traditional tool for calming, centering and problem solving.  A lot of cultures even consider them a form of worship, from what I understand.

Aikanar - When I remember to bring the removable drive to the library again, these pics are getting a place of honor in my IV photo folder...thanks for posting them and the info!

I am glad that you enjoyed using this pattern.  I noticed after the ritual where Rowan and I shared in coloring two of them, that it also looks a lot like a shield, when the pattern is repeated with 3-4 colors...

Facinating. It looks like a portal, a small hole in time and space you can see through to see other places and other things.
Last night I was blessed by Iluvatar to go outside and see Remmirath in the sky, with Menalcamar (Orion) to the left and high above my house. these celestial visions must have been viewed by the Eldar continually at Cuiviénen where our ancestors awoke.
Therefore those of the Eldar have always loved to gaze upon the stars.
