The Grey-Mantled Lady

Post by Ellenar »

I doth walk in shadowed night
A gleaming radiance, clothed in light
I bear the sorrows of all who grieve
To grant the spirit sweet reprieve

(To my lady, Nienna, whose presence has been dear to me in times of great sorrow.)
"The time of Moonsheen has passed. The noontide of the dominion of Men is waning. Soon will come the era of Starshine. And the ages will partake of both; the grace of Moonsheen and the glory of the Days of the Sun" -Mormeril

A lovely poem, Ellenar.  Somehow the sentiment is very soothing to me.  Is it your composition?

Yes, it is.  I wrote it the other night, while at work.  I have been grieving for my brother, and these words helped me to remember that I was not alone in the enduring of my sorrow.

Suilad, Elennar ~

This is a nice bit of poetic devotion to Lady Nienna.  I have been feeling a connection to her often when it rains out here, as though these are her tears.  The fact that rain washes everything, and everyone has served to give me a similar awareness as yours about sorrow.  We're not alone in it, nor in the healing that mingles with it.  The greyness of the sky also reminds me of Lady Este, the other grey lady of the Valier.
