(I wrote this while contemplating the plight of the Hobbits within the Old Forest, and their rescue by Tom Bombadil.)
Tavari, Tavari, always about but hardly seen
grant me safe passage, through thine halls
majestically wooded, draped in green
O Hidden People, O Hidden People
as these woodland paths I tread
bless my Sight, make wide my eyes
that thine works, and little wonders
along my travel, I may spy
Tavari, Tavari

Re: Tavari, Tavari
Thanks! It came to me quite suddenly, and I was quite surprised. I find myself re-reading it over and over. It touches something within me.
As I wrote it, I had a vision of standing at a forest's edge. My hands were placed upon the bark of a tree. With my inner senses stretching outward, I recited this rhyme, then entered. I wonder if this rhyme can be used as a prayer of sorts, that one recites, before entering a forest or woodlands.

Suilad, Elennar ~
Another nice poem. It does indeed have the feel of a rhyme one would speak to seek entrance into a place, or to give notice of their entry. With all of the rampant carelessness so many people display when it comes to the forests, streams, and any other dwelling place loved by the denizens of the Blessed Realm, a little respectful permission seeking probably goes a long way.
