The Garden ~ A Song for Irmo at Isilcermie

Post by Eruannlass »

The Garden
by Rowan Elensír

Arien’s brilliance adorns the West,
Her rays a crown for the Realm.
Green are the leaves that shelter the vine,
Soon heavy with grape from where flows sweet wine.

Sweetness rich, deep color pure,
Flowing in to the waters where dreaming endures.

Sweet blooms the jasmine, ‘midst the poppies they weave,
Scents of vision to treasure;
Whispers and memory,
Strengthening joy ~ ‘ere ye grieve.

Shining down as the winds stir soft ‘midst the trees ~
First sliver, then orb.
‘Tis Tilion’s sail, now beckoning thee ~

‘Enter the garden, seek shimmering pearl.
Rest by the waters; far away from the world.’

Far away from the world,
With its' hustling pace.
For the night linger here,
And know Irmo’s grace.
I Aear cân ven na mar ~ 'The Sea calls us Home.'

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea

Reading this, it was almost as if I could envision the dreamscape taking shape within my mind. Well done, Rowan!

Suilad ~

On Rowan's behalf, I'm saying 'thank you.' He said at the time that I posted this here (because I feel it's very good, too), that he hoped it would bring joy to others who would then read it. Being with him when he composed it, I can say that this came from his heart, and he's all to happy to share his writings, because if they touch the heart of another, more of what the Valar want us to be sharing has bloomed into existence. :)

It's tempting to go translate it into Sindarin, but I don't have the time for it now ... maybe next week :)
