It appears J.R.R. Tolkien thought we are in the Sixth Age of the world, according to the reckoning of his secondary world (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Ages#Further_future.3F).
If you were to describe this age through music, as the Ainur may have done during the Ainulindalë, what song or piece would you choose?
(Asking also because I'm not able to create music myself, but if there is anyone who is, any creation is more than welcome).
I think a piece that had as purpose to represent it might sound like this (considering how Melkor influenced it: all the chaos in the background represents him and his works):
