Painting of Queens of Numenor
I rather like the following painting, as I think it captures their emotional characters rather well (insofar as we have narrative data).

Now, I know that many of you here are artists, and so may object to it on some technical ground(s). But for a dude like me whose artistic skill may rise to drawing a stick figure brandishing its fist with a bubble caption over its head saying, "I live in a van down by the river! (but am soon to move to a house in Georgia)", it suits my purposes. :-)
Their names, from left to right, are:
1) Princess Silmarien
2) Queen Tar-Ancalimë
3) Queen Tar-Telperiën
4) Queen Tar-Vanimeldë (her name means 'Beautiful Beloved')
5) Queen Tar-Míriel (or consort Ar-Zimraphel)

Oh WOW, what a find Meneldur! My artistic abilities lie more in crafts than they do in fine arts stuff - so I get it! ;-) I rather like this!

Those are interesting, since most of the artwork I've seen on DeviantArt features either the Valar, Eldar, and the other races and characters of Middle~earth. It always interests me when details of the artwork (such as the color choice for each queen's clothing, and the symbols in the tile) either do or at least appear to reflect details within the Lore. One facial detail that jumps out at me is that Queen Tar-Vanimeldë's lips seem to be turn up in a bit of a smirk, in a way that seems contradictory to her name. Since I've yet to read the Annals of Numenor and other supporting material, I wonder if that was intentional, based on the Lore, or if that's just the way the artist drew her face.

Congrats also on the upcoming move to Georgia, Meneldur! Does this mean you succeeded in getting a house?

--- From "THE LINE OF ELROS: KINGS OF NÚMENOR (from the Founding of the City of Armenelos to the Downfall)", Unfinished TalesXVI Tar-Vanimeldë
She was the third Ruling Queen; she was born in the year 2277 and ruled for 111 years until her death in 2637. She gave
little heed to ruling, loving rather music and dance; and the power was wielded by her husband Herucalmo, younger
than she, but a descendant of the same degree from Tar-Atanamir. Herucalmo took the sceptre upon his wife's death,
calling himself Tar-Anducal, and withholding the rule from his son Alcarin; yet some do not reckon him in the Line of
Kings as seventeenth, and pass to Alcarin. Tar-Anducal was born in the year 2286 and he died in 2657.
A more concise summary is:
--- The Encyclopedia of ArdaTar-Vanimeldë was the third Queen to hold the Sceptre of Númenor, but she cared little for her royal duties, and gave them over to her husband Herucalmo. Their son was Alcarin, who was by law his mother's heir, and should have become King of Númenor on her death. Instead, Herucalmo seized the Sceptre for himself, clinging to the reins of power under the name Tar-Anducal. After twenty years, Tar-Anducal died in his turn, and Alcarin finally came into his inheritance, ruling Númenor under the name of Tar-Alcarin.

These are beautiful pieces of art, clearly the artist did the research. I find that even if I don't agree with the design, viewing art based on the Legendarium, inevitably strengthens the connection through a physical sense: sight.
