Re: Knitting pattern reflects Two Trees
Wow, they mean Trees of Life, right? ;-) I don't knit, but this is cool! I like the bed of leaves as well as the tree outlines. I wonder if this could translate easily to crochet, i.e. a filet crochet thing? Thanks Dineen!

Re: Knitting pattern reflects Two Trees
I know, strange that they call it Tree of Life, but it's clearly TWO trees. I would think that since the pattern has the graph for the main pattern, translating it to a filet crochet design would be rather easy. I really like filet crochet too.
I've never done any knitting quite this complex before-- simple cables yes, also following a pattern graph for filet crochet, but not some of these new stitches either. It's nice that their is a blog on their site for folks who want to "knit along" so that as they need to learn new things or hit trouble spots with the patthern they can learn from each other in the comments of the blog. The materials are discounted right now too.

Wow that afghan is gorgeous! Makes me wish I could knit I do cross-stitch through so I'm going to see if perhaps I can turn this pattern into a workable cross-stitch one. Thanks for sharing Dineen!

Re: Knitting pattern reflects Two Trees
I crochet, and have been on the hunt for a larger project to do when I get really good at it - if there's a way to convert this to crochet, I'd take a stab at it...knitting puts me over the edge, tho...

Boy, Eruanlass, you said it! I think knitting needles make better darts hehehe - guess I align with the "punk rock of needlecraft" (and that would be crochet - and I didn't know until recently that "happy hookers" referred to Irish ladies-of-evening crocheting between their sailor clients hehehe!)

Re: Knitting pattern reflects Two Trees
Haven't had the chance to read any of the books, but I just about died when I heard the phrase "Happy Hookers" connected to crocheting...What bugs me is that it seems all the effort in designing clothing went to knitting - leaving us crocheters with nothing but the squares and rectangles. I found a book with sock crocheting directions and was thrilled!

Wow! All their patterns?! I better check that out. I have been saving a series of crochet and knit flowers that I just thought would have a place here. I've saved the simpler ones in that series, and mainly the crochet - Referring back to the posts above this one, I'm happier as a 'hooker', as opposed to getting 'needled.'
